Washford Railway Station is home to the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust complete with a museum, shop, signalbox and real working steam railway providing access to twenty miles of beautiful countryside and the West Somerset coast.

Tropiquaria is a paradise for all ages offering the wonderful experience of animals and adventure in the tropical rainforest.

There is plenty to do outdoors and inside there is a fascinating radio museum containing a vast collection of broadcasting memorabilia housed in the old BBC regional transmitting station.

At certain times there is a vintage bus providing visits to the Cistercian Cleeve Abbey and Washford Mill shopping complex.

If you revel in preserved steam and diesel railways there is also the East Somerset Railway in the Mendip Hills at Cranmore.
