There are the famous Gough's Cave and Cox's Cave to visit and the climb up Jacob's Ladder offers superb views of the Mendip Hills and the famous Cheddar Gorge below.
More than 360 botanical species have been identified here and the rare Cheddar Pink is confined to the limestone rocks.
Cheddar Gorge gives visitors much of interest and underneath the cliffs are many small gift shops, craft workshops, exhibitions and restaurants.
Cheddar village has a lake and waterfall and the River Yeo leads to the Garden of Fragrance - created specially for the blind.
